Joel with Mach 1

Here I am in August of 1994, with a MACH 1 that I scratch built in 1964. It was last flown as a three-channel plane on Futaba gear. It is covered with silk and clear dope with pigment color trim. It is fairly heavy at 5.5 pounds, and flies nicely on an OS 40 FP.

Joel with HeadMaster Sport 40

Here I am in March of 1995, with an old Ken Willard Head Master Sport 40 that I built during the Winter of 1994. It flies on four channel Futaba gear. It is covered with Ultra-Coat the same material used for color trim. It is weighs in at 6 pounds, and flies hot on an O.S. .46 AX.

Joel preparing to fly HeadMaster Sport 40

Here I am in March of 1996, with the Head Master Sport 40 at our club's old field in New Boston, NH. This is perhaps the best flying after-trainer I have seen. It is a little on the fast side but with the nice thick semi-symmetrical wing it slows right down on final approach. With a good .46 engine up front, you can do any aerobatic maneuver you want. These old Top-Flight kits can be found on the shelf in old hobby shops that collect inventory. I found mine on Long Island. If you are really interested, I can copy the plans for you. Send email.

A future building project is a 1/4-scale Citabria airplane. It will be powered by a Quadra 23cc engine and it will weigh in at about 12 pounds when finished. I am going to cover it with Stits Scale covering material which will be white with orange trim. Here is a photo of another Citabria. This one is a full-scale plane.
